HONEYCOMB VOL 1, 80cm
CONCEPT
An exploration of surface and erosion- where the form sits between organic structure and natural decay.
The composition may evoke a honeycomb or weathered stone, shaped over time. Contrasting textures create a subtle tension between softness and depth, while the muted, earthy tone allows the work to merge quietly into its surroundings.
Rather than a fixed interpretation, the piece invites a personal reading- shifting between natural formation and abstract structure.
This is a unique work. No variations or reproductions will be made.
MATERIALS
The surface is finished with hand-applied layers of natural clay plaster, enriched with mineral pigments.
This material creates a soft, matte depth, where light reveals subtle tonal transitions and shadowing across the relief.
The earthy character of the clay — its irregularity and tactility — is central to the work’s presence.
A lightweight internal structure ( buildingboard, cardboard) supports the composition, remaining intentionally unobtrusive.
